Frank Martinez Film Editor


BIO
Frank Martinez is an award-winning film editor based in Los Angeles, California. His most recent work, "The Harvest" which screened in February at the Santa Monica Film Festival and is currently making a run through the festival circuit. He also worked with the Smithsonian Institution to edit a documentary called "Satook", which screened at the National Museum of Asian Art and was on display in the Exhibition "Revealing Krishna: Journey to Cambodia's Sacred Mountain" in the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery of Art from April 2022 through September 2022.
In 2017-2018, Frank edited the independent film "In the Life of Music," which won numerous awards including representing Cambodia in the country's 2018 Oscar submission. He is active in the Los Angeles area film community editing documentaries and promotional content for the Cambodia Town Film Festival in Long Beach, California since its founding. He's edited three documentary feature films, and numerous short films during his career.
Frank graduated from Chapman University with his MFA in Film Editing, where he was mentored by ACE editor, Paul Seydor (White Men Can't Jump, Turner and Hooch, Tin Cup) and was recognized as Best Editor on his graduate thesis, short film "Paulina". He attended TCU for undergrad where he studied Film and got his start in professional filmmaking as a Production Assistant on independent film "Into Temptation" (starring Kristen Chenowith and Jeremy Sisto)
Frank was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, where his passion for filmmaking started with making home movies when he was 8-years old. Currently he is working on behind the scenes content for big studio movies.

November 2021 - October 2022
I got to edit my second feature. I was on set for the whole month and then edited for months until we had a completed project. It is currently on a festival run, first premiering at Santa Barbara.

When I stepped back in to my job at No Roads, I worked on this piece for Shimano. It was so well shot and the story was amazing please check it out!

Satook
December 2021 - March 2022
This was a special moment for me to not only work on a documentary that is super impactful but to do it with the Smithsonian and have it play in the exhibit for half a year.

A great opportunity to work on a documentary for Disney. Worked with so many great people on this. I was an additional editor and just happy to be apart of something so big.

One of my first opportunities to cut a feature documentary. Working with 20 hours of interviews, 150 hours of basketball game tapes and a boatload of pictures. I produced and edited this movie. This school has won 16 championships and getting to tell their story was a lot of fun.
